First of all please forgive me for making you all hold your breath in wondering IF there was going to be a reunion at all, second it’s on and the fat lady is singing.

Hotel Accommodations

Sheraton Detroit Riverside Hotel, 2 Washington Blvd., Detroit, Mi. 48226. The Hotel is smack dab in the heart of Downtown Detroit. Room rates are $119.00 for Traditional King and $129.00 for Double plus 6% tax. We are making available a motor coach that will pick up family members at the airport, arriving and departing. One way one adult is $25.00; two or more per person is $19.00 each one way. Complimentary Meet and Greet at airport. Make your reservations by calling 1-866-837-4212 or 313-965-0200. All reservations have to be complete by Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Identify yourself as a member of the Green Family Reunion Group. Reunions are in hot demand in Detroit so HURRY, HURRY, HURRY!!!!

Reunion Registration

Registration fees include Friday Welcome Reception, Saturday Family Reunion Picnic and other fun activities. Bring your walking shoes, cause we are going to strut our stuff around the town. Make sure to bring a night on the town outfit. Fee is $55 per adult (Ages 18 and up); $40.00 per teen (Ages 13-17); $25.00 per youth (Ages 6-12) and free for children (Ages 0-5).

Important The agenda is to find out how many people are flying into Detroit and how many might be driving. Parking per night at the hotel is $18-$20.00 a night. We are making plans to have the family members shuttled to the hotel and this would curtail rental car expense and gas. Shuttle is $25.00 for one, more than one is $19.00 per person.

Parking is free and available on the streets of downtown Detroit right in the area of the hotel.

We will have several systems set up for you all to register via Internet, telephone or by mail. The sooner we block our rooms the better chance we will have to be on the same floor with each other. For an accurate head count, our deadline is May 30th, 2008.

I will be attending an Annual Family Reunion Conference on January 26th. Forthcoming will be activity list and cost so you can arrange your personnel budget. For family members in Detroit who wish to attend, the conference will be held at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church 8200 Mack Ave., Rev. Wallace Bell 8;00 a.m.-12:00 noon. NOTE: I will be checking to see if I can register the family reunion under my 501©3. If so this would alleviate hotel tax. Input would be appreciated.
